01 — Our Heritage
A workshop, before it was a brand.
Forma Seating was founded in 2011 in Meda — a small town in the Brianza district that has quietly supplied Italy’s finest furniture houses for over a century.
We started with a single frame-maker and a conviction: that comfort and architecture are not competing goals, but the same goal, seen from two sides.
Fifteen years later, the workshop has grown, but the process hasn’t changed. Every sofa still passes through the hands of fewer than a dozen people.
02 — Our Philosophy
Space and comfort, one language.
We think of a sofa the way an architect thinks of a wall — as something that shapes how a room is used, not just how it looks.
Comfort that photographs well is easy. Comfort that lasts fifteen years of daily use is the actual craft.
That’s why every Forma piece is drawn first as a section, not a silhouette — proportion, seat depth and back angle resolved before a single fabric is chosen.

Four decisions we make on every piece, so you never have to think about them again.

Solid timber, not composite
Kiln-dried oak and walnut frames, doweled and glued by hand — no staples, no particleboard, ever.

Foam engineered in layers
High-resilience cores wrapped in goose-feather and fibre, tuned by seat position for even long-term support.

Upholstery, not assembly
Full-grain leathers and natural weaves are cut and hand-stitched on the frame — not pre-sewn covers stretched over foam.
04
Built to be re-covered
Every frame is designed to be re-upholstered in decades to come, so the piece you own outlives its first fabric.
